Hey board gamers!
I am looking for a way to print cards with the image of all the games I have on them, to have an easy way to browse through them physically or prepare a selection and draw at random. (Something similar as the character selection deck for Zombicide, just for board games, not characters)

Is there a bgg function like that? Or a third-party software that can produce it?

Of course it can be done by using the BGG API, but that would be a lot of work. No use to invent the wheel twice. Or I could take a photo of every box and use Lightroom to produce a "book" pdf and print it... Any ideas for an easier way?

You might be able to do something with this site: http://www.boredgamertools.com/widget.php?username=dancj&lay...

Not sure if you can get it to show all of the games you own though.

Do you have a Windows PC? You can use this tool:

https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/48007/complete-pack-creat...

Instructions step by step:

1) download and unzip it, maintaining the folders' structure

2) launch BGG1tool

3) Write your BGG username in the box to the right of "Load from user"

4) Click "Load from user" button

5) Click "Load games" button

6) Click "Show paths" button

7) Select the script you want use in the "Script nanDECK" box, chosen between:

bgg2nandeck.txt
IDKdeck_DCorrin.txt
IDKdeck_Grithog.txt
IDKdeck_OnlyHuman.txt
IDKdeck_SawHat.txt
IDKdeck_Solamar.txt

8) Click "Run nanDECK" button

9) Click "Validate deck" button

10) Click "Build deck" button

11) Print deck, create PDF or save single images

Example of one card (with the IDKdeck_OnlyHuman.txt script):

It sounds like a physical deck is a requirement for you? If you just need a way to randomly pick one of your games, the BGG app has such a function (at least in the Android version).

Thanks for the suggestions! That idk deck tool looks very good to me.

I ended up sitting down and used the json download tool (https://bgg-json.azurewebsites.net/) to extract a json list of all the games I own. Then I wrote a small python script that downloaded all the images. But than I failed to get use python and matplotlib to get a card layout. I managed to create cards with just the name and the image using Adobe Lightroom, but those are missing all the cool information that the idk deck tool puts into the cards.

So I will definitely give that tool a look.

The nandeck collection card is pretty slick and ready to go.

If all you're trying to do is scrape the thumbnails for your BGG collection, that's actually very easy, assuming your collection is up-to-date.

All you have to do is go to your collection view, turn on the thumbnail column, then copy and paste each page into whatever application you're working in that can take the data.

You can paste into Excel, and turn that into an image database using named cells, etc.

Could be a lot of work tho. Would be easier to keep up-to-date using the foundation provided above by nandeck and adapting it as needed!
