As an old guy (well, not so old but... ), I'm really having problems to search the crime scenes on my phone
Some vriend told me that I should be able to broadcast my phone on my tv screen by using Chromecast, but before buying anything, I'd like to know if this will be effectively doable. From what I can see, Chromecast can't really mirror your phone on Tv, but require an App compatible with it in order to display it.

So, does anyone know if ChromeCast would work with Chronicles of Crime ?

Thanks

Chromecast can mirrror your phone on the tv. I tried it.
You have to go to your chromecast app google home and then mirror your screen.

I don't think it's that simple on ios though, but I haven't been able to try it yet.

For iOS you need an AppleTV.

Thanks guys,

Yes, I forgot to be more precise, but effectively, I'm using an IPhone...
And don't have any AppleTV. Is Chromecast not an option in this case then ?

In theory you can use free software to set up an airplay server on your computer and then tell your iOS device to display there. And THEN figure out a way to cast from your computer. A found a guide when googling but can’t find it now to figure out how to get the computer display to your TV.

Alternatively the iOS App Store appears to have a couple of apps that will cast a mirror of your device screen to your chrome cast but I haven’t had a chance to try yet.

EDIT: I did fiddle with a couple of apps. They mirror the video fine (in portrait, mostly), but play the sound on the device instead of sending that to the TV.

I use my Amazon FireTV stick with an inexpensive app to mirror my iOS tablet to TV.
