Played solo (three-handed). I didn’t forge any alliances, but did clear all of the barbarians from the cities. Victory, correct?

Correct thumbsup After how many Revolt cards did you manage to clear the board?

Only one Revolt raised it's ugly head. It was a quick game. I think the combination of dice rolls and minimal bad card draws is what helped. I’ll be playing again later today, and will see if I just got lucky. Must be the case because my first times with a new game never go my way. 😐

Thanks for the response, Matteo.

Nice job. What 3 characters did you have for this win?

The starting hand is really important, as it can let you immediately build Forts in strategic cities if you're lucky.

I played Consul, Praefectus Fabrum and Magister Militum. Started off with the easier to grasp factions, if you will. I was moving toward my first alliance forging when I realized that I may not need to bother. The Pandemic gods chose to start me off on the right foot. I fear, however, that they are merely toying with me. 😳

Posting this to reassure players that it shouldn't be that easy to win...

I was playing it wrong. Instead of playing, “one turn for you, one turn for me”, I was playing, “three for me, one for you!” against the game. No wonder it was so damn easy! Back to the table...

Impressive! I don't think any playtesters ever managed to pull that off.

No Matt, he was just drawing barbarian cards after playing all 3 characters turns, instead of drawing after each character turn!

Aha! Well, that explains it.
