I read the only forum post about 1776 and was surprised that the post did not identify the game design origin as inspired by the popular game 'Careers'. Since I am interested in gamer's interactions with the design I am curious about use of this format for a historical design. I enjoyed the elaborate discussion of the 'stocks' as an example of a broken mechanic. I am interested in playing the game with a larger group (5-8)just for verification of the reviewer's claim. Our group found that 'Bootleggers' only became really enjoyable when we had 6 players.
