I haven’t tested any of these yet, but I will and edit later.

1) Clear Crystal - Instead of only stacking a clear crystal and ending your turn, you can choose any of the four other color rules to follow.

2) Card Draft - Deal out 10 cards per player. Keep 1, pass the rest. Repeat until each player has chosen a number of cards equal to 2x the number of players. Discard the rest into the box. You can still play a card after mining a gem from the bag, or trash a card to mine & stack 2 gems, but you no longer draw any new cards into your hand.

3) Switch stack - Instead of foregoing your whole turn to move a crystal from the top of one stack to another, it’s a move you can do as part of your regular turn.

The idea is to give the players a little more control and choice to temper the luck element, and add a little depth to the game.
