When I first saw this game I thought Twilight Struggle. After reading the description I am thinking more like Lincoln. Either way, the game looks interesting as I do like the mechanics presented in both comparisons.

It's definitely an adaptation of Lincoln's mechanics to WWII.
Every mechanic described and the map location system come from Lincoln.

They changed the arrangement of half-locations, from vertical to horizontal, hence the Twilight Struggle vibe. No Influence though.

The location positioning has room for improvement. Normandy located in Britanny (oh my...), Paris near Bordeaux or Vichy, ...whistle
Lincoln's map is awkward too. It's tricky to fit the half-locations and stay right to geography.

Think of the map as a background illustration; the real action takes place on the network of locations. But yes it can be a bit jarring.
