Great game design makes the complex simple, replayability maximum, and abstraction credible.
It’s not how well you roll that counts but how well the dice suit the game.
A tip here the other day, led me to an interview on the podcast Low Player Count with John Butterfield.

Fast forward to roughly 39:23 where the discussion of SpaceCorp (then still on P500) begins but if you sit down at the beginning you'll uncover some fantastic insight into John and his design process.

It really helped me see where John wanted SpaceCorp to go and I commend Travis, the interviewer, and John for their openness and refreshing honesty.
