Marco Teubner's Tiny Park is described as a purely re-themed version of his previous Mummy's Treasure game. That is, instead of collecting and arranging Egyptian treasure tiles players collect circus attraction tiles for their player boards. Thus, the components are different, but the game play is -- supposedly -- the same.

Fine. Except that in the English-language rules to Mummy's Treasure, it states that "... you must swap the dice for a treasure tile".

But in the English-language rules to Tiny Park the rule governing the same action reads, "... you may take a single attraction tile".

Thus in Mummy's Treasure we're left to think that after your 3rd roll you must take a treasure tile, if you legally can. But in Tiny Park we're left to think that the player has an option of whether to take a tile or not.

So this appears to be a small rules change. Yet it's possible it could be a translation error from original German-language rules to English-language rules.

Perhaps someone can say for sure.

The German rules for Tiny Park also say (the equivalent of) "may" as far as I can tell.

Hi Dan -- Thanks for your prompt and constructive reply. So accepting what you say, a player in Tiny Park chooses whether to take a circus attraction.

OK. But what about Mummy's Treasure? We know the English rules there say a player must take a tile. But are the German rules in agreement with that? (Perhaps not, in which case the translation to English in that game introduced a small error.)

Best -- John

The German rules for Mummy's Treasure look to be the same as those for Tiny Park - I would say the English rules for Mummy's Treasure are incorrect.
