I don't appear to have the relevant threads tagged so wasn't able to locate them yet but there have been several back testing done that Geek Gold has acted as greasing the gears in the machine and results in more overall trades (and not just the additional GG offers). In past before Aldie giving away crap loads of GG into the GG economy and drastically deflating the value of GG actually acted as glue across different math trades... I used to often accept GG for my real games in one MT knowing I could then offer up the same GG in a later MT and trade it for a real game then.

I'm currently testing some language localisations.
Here is a Math Trade that'll start in the next days:
https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/addmygames.cgi?listid=252...

While I am on this page, I see all the text in English instead of my local language and also cannot find the text in the translation document.

While I am on that page, the text that belongs to the little icons at the top of the page and that appears by mouse-over is in English, too.

Edit: on https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/viewlist.cgi?listid=25281..., untranslated parts are:
"Set my values" and " Click this after you have set/changed values for your items above. These values are only visisble to you and will be used to sort the table columns in step 4. "

On https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/mywants.cgi?listid=252817, there is untranslated text: " You can now assign values to your own items as well. This will control the order the columns are sorted as well as allow you to auto-check the boxes where the value you assigned a want is greater than or equal to the value you assigned your own items. To assign values to your own items click on the icon in the navigation bar up top then come back here and " " Klick hier. "

On https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/mtusers.cgi?listid=252817, there are half-translated parts:
"Metrisch: Users-Trading ( iterations)
47.8 Std left to offer (add) games"
"miles"
"Execution time 0 seconds. "
"Color coding" is in the translation table, but not used on this page
"Yellow background rows are users whom you added (step 3) one or more of their items (number in paren is how many)" --> I think it should be "who added" instead of "whom you added"

On https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/glstats.cgi?listid=252817
"color coding"

https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/
"Notices"
"Alle Hinweise als gelesen markieren" -> the translation table looks fine; the website has an " " " at the end that doesn't belong here.
"Welcome XXX [help] [tip jar (geek gold)] [planning to run a math trade?] "

https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/getcollection-top.cgi
" Click the button to initiate a resync. Note that this may take at least 30 seconds... and possibly several minutes if you have lots of collection data. In most browsers you should see real time progress as the OLWLG attempts to sync all subtypes (as well as having to sleep and retry when BGG says to)... the most notable exception is Microsoft's Internet Explorer in which case you'll just have to patiently wait until you get notice it is done. "
"Do it now"

good catch! That script had two problems... 1st is fixed... it was one script that wasn't calling into the code to set the locale... that's fixed and on that page the mouse over (title) text is now from the translations...

... the 2nd problem however is it looks like when I did take 1 of internationalization I skipped over this (addmygames) script I was able to use 2 existing msgid's "add item" (in place where it said "Add") and "Version" however I'm going to have to add new msgid's for the rest

Looks like a couple more I missed when I originally did take 1... I'll add msgid's for these too

edit: I see you've made a couple more edits with some more good catches... I'll add msgid's for all those as well and get back to everyone.

I've got a question concerning this text:
https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/
Quote:
sorry to those this may affect, but since the OLWLG takes my time and resources to support a math trade, the OLWLG won't support any math trade that forces those in it to ship outside the lower 48 (and hence excludes me from participating). This does not apply to no-ship math trades or non-USA country specific math trades.
What is outside the "lower 48 states"? Alaska and Hawaii? Does that mean that US Math Trades need to be restricted to the 48 central states?

And also:
Quote:
no math trades that allow folks to have retaliatory shipping policies (such as 'mirror shipping', etc). They provide no benefit and just cause confusion.
What are "retaliatory shipping policies" and "mirror shipping"?

Could you also explain, what is "GG arbitrage", please?

I'm adding some more text that wasn't translated:
https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/?sortprev=listid#prev
"by" (as in "(by rainbow maker)")
"Only displaying the previous 60 math trades, click on the 'none' link above to display all previous math trades."

https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/trades-summary.cgi?format...
Here, I have the choice between "table no desc" and "table w/desc". I don't understand what exactly this triggers. Could you explain, please?

"Total count" -> this is not self-explanatory. Is this the total count of trades or of downloads of the file left to the note?

https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/mostwanted.cgi?listid=250...
Here I see lists "MISSING WANT LISTS BY USER", "MISSING WANT LISTS" and "UNWANTED". Could you explain what these lists actually show?

Could you also explain, what is "GG arbitrage", please?

It would be more accurately called skimming, but the term arbitrage took hold. It is having a listing that wants a greater amount of . It is equivalent to offering a $50 gift card, and putting $55+ gift cards on its want list. Most people will accept either amount, but prefer the greater, by sticking this skimming offer in that trader gets the difference without adding value to the trade as a whole.

I did a quick search and found this thread from 2007: Math Trade GG Arbitrage should be Banned

Alaska and Minnesota. And no, US trades aren't restricted to the Contiguous 48, you're allowed to charge extra for the other 2 states, the District of Columbia, military bases, Guam, Puerto Rico, and other such territories. It is also not the Continental 49, as the point of the continental designation is to add Alaska to the 48. This comes up about 3 times a year in the US trades.

Ok, I think I've added (in the code itself) new msgid's for all the ones you found... just a couple notes

The reason "MISSING WANT LISTS BY USER" isn't translated into German (yet) is that google translate left it untranslated... so it's going to be one I guess will require human translation

as for "Users-Trading" that is a METRIC that goes into TradeMaximizer and so isn't translated, it's a keyword

I've dusted off the special case of the upload script that uploads gettext (po files)... I also just added to it so that it compiles (calls msgfmt) on the file if it's successfully upload and will report the errors if it failed to compile.

So those working on translations

https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/upload.pl?what=gettext

I do get a geekmail for each upload.

At some point I may add an option so as part of the upload it also auto-installs it so it immediately takes effect

Thanks. For the installation you can consider selecting people from the various tongues that are allowed to perform the installation.

There is always the re-sync page that is not translated. If you provide the references I would do the Italian translations.

Marginal note, the resync page is not translated. If it can be made with the various localization files, let us know which lines to translate.
Other marginal note, is not translated even the page that allows you to up-load offers from previous math trade.
If you let us know where to find the originals we do the work. I see all these things while running the Math Trade Italia Febbraio 2019, and with the staff that I put on we can translate these missing parts while testing them through the running trade.

oh it's definitely not going to let anyone overwrite any of the existing installed translations, like you said I'll have to create a list of usernames and which language(s) they are allowed to overwrite

yup, Kathrin caught those yesterday and several other untranslated tidbits... I've already made most of those changes ... and then I'll create an "addendum" pot with just the new ones for those folks who already completed are already started that they can append

ok here are 48 new additional msgid's as a result of internationalizing some messages that were already. Thanks for finding those! Just the new ones are cut/pasted below or can be grabbed from

https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/LANG/Additional_48_msgid_...

For those currently in progress working on human translations if you could add this to the po file you are working on that would be great. For those who already previously completed the translations you've got two choices... either take your completed po file and append these or just grab this new file and translate and in either case use the upload tool to get them up into the OLWLG.

Upload tool: https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/upload.pl?what=gettext

The msgid "BoardGameGeek" I added but I'm guessing most will just leave the translation (msgstr) as the empty ("") string which means no translate.

I've also re-generated the grep (findstr) of all the $GT/msgid strings in context which is at

Thanks a lot to Jeff and the others!

I'll check back on your explanations and additions later on.

I'm quite busy these days, so while the German Leftover trade is still open, I'll focus on the translation of the then accessible pages. Up to now I found one other untranslated thing:

The dummy protection page has untranslated parts:
" You can now assign values to your own items as well. This will control the order the columns are sorted as well as allow you to auto-check the boxes where the value you assigned a want is greater than or equal to the value you assigned your own items. To assign values to your own items click on the icon in the navigation bar up top then come back here and "

since Kathrin pointed out that "miles" was not internationalized it got me thinking about that I really should display distances (only two scripts do, mtusers and trades-summary) in kilometers if the locale uses metric system... well I couldn't find a way to determine that (anyone know otherwise?) so I've just gone and changed it to display distance in both miles and kilomters... as such we have a new msgid

msgid "km"
msgstr ""

a quick check at google translate looks like no one but me needs to do anything as "km" appears to need no translation in most languages except in Chinese (simplified)

I'm a feder-allergic and I blame the Klingon for not having smashed the Federation in time to save us from Star Trek serials.

since Kathrin pointed out that "miles" was not internationalized it got me thinking about that I really should display distances (only two scripts do, mtusers and trades-summary) in kilometers if the locale uses metric system... well I couldn't find a way to determine that (anyone know otherwise?) so I've just gone and changed it to display distance in both miles and kilomters... as such we have a new msgid

msgid "km"
msgstr ""

a quick check at google translate looks like no one but me needs to do anything as "km" appears to need no translation in most languages except in Chinese (simplified)

In french, both miles and km stay the same
Distances are not a problem, can even stay so.

As a step towards this I just changed the upload script so that it automatically installs (if it compiles) it as your own personal message catalog! Now folks working on translations can test their works in progress both to make sure they compile and to see the changes thus far in action.

When you're sure it's ready just let me know and I can move it into the right place so it's used by everyone.

ok here are 48 new additional msgid's as a result of internationalizing some messages that were already. Thanks for finding those! Just the new ones are cut/pasted below or can be grabbed from

https://bgg.activityclub.org/olwlg/LANG/Additional_48_msgid_...
fwiw I've now appended the new ones to the master po file (OLWLG-English.po.txt) ... and I've used google translate on them as well for all the other languages and appended them to the corresponding ones in

I've also re-generated the grep (findstr) of all the $GT/msgid strings in context which is at

There's no more "line" number in the generated listing.

If you are looking for an Dutch translation, I'm happy to help.

I will try to do the Dutch Netherlands (nl_nl) and Dutch Belgian (nl_be).
Since I am a Belgian, living in The Netherlands, and the differences are not that big (even les than en_us versus en_gb).
