I demoed this game with a bunch of people and found it to take too long still, and we played with around 45 sec rounds. Maybe it was too short for people to get a gameplan.
Was thinking One way of shortening the game could be a variant of the ambush card so it'll punish the whole group for being too obvious for who they are targeting, and reward the person who played ambush for deducing correctly.
Anyone try this way yet?

No but that's brutal. I'd love to see how that goes.

Not necessarily, you see ambush allows the player to pick the ringleader who organized the entire table against them. If the table all picks the same player and that player knew everyone was gunning for him and picks his ambush card, then that player becomes the Boss and has a free reign on picking who will get eliminated that round.
The bigger problem is that any player who picked the ambushing player could just have been going with the crowd because voting against the majority has serious consequences. That player is exposed to the ambushing players pick and there is nothing they could do about it.
So ambush is powerful enough already. No need to give it more power.
