It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity.
It is the middle ground between light and shadow,
between science and superstition,
and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge.
This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call...

The Twilight Zone

This is my standard ruleset:
Quote:
1) Don't be rude to people. No personal attacks, etc. You know the drill. If I tell you to stop and you continue or if things go overboard I may bar you from my future games. Please talk with me if you feel someone has crossed a line and I will help settle it in the most peaceful way I see possible.

2) Conditional orders are accepted for actions. They can be things like “If X flips aux, kill Y” or “If A is lynched, target B”, etc. They must be things you would be aware of mechanically. They can’t be things like, “If the seer views X, kill Y.” Ask if a conditional order would be valid if you are uncertain.

3) Dusk and dawn are final deadlines. This means that if dusk is at 5:00pm, then all votes placed at 5:00pm will be valid and all votes at or after 5:01pm will not be valid. The same logic applies to night actions and dawn.

4) Should you wish to speed up the game, I allow nightfalls and locking actions. If nightfall votes guarantee that one person will be lynched (or if it guarantees no lynch), I will dusk. If this is a game with the potential for vote manipulation, I will only dusk if there is a wide enough vote margin to hide that type of information. Unless I say otherwise, locking your game orders at night will speed up dawn. This mostly depends on my availability.

5) There is no minimum posting requirement (unless otherwise stated), but if you’re not posting enough in the game, I might replace you out. I will notify you if you need to be posting more. If you are posting less, such as one post per day, you better have a quality post. If you feel like you cannot keep up, there is no shame in asking for replacement.

6) Should you not put in a night action or a conditional order, it will be assumed you have not entered an action unless otherwise stated. Team evil night kills and brutals are usually selected randomly if this happens. Team good brutals will be randomly chosen from your own team should this happen. Wolf brutals will be a random non-wolf should this happen. Missing night actions may result in replacement.

7) Do not metagame to flip your own role. It may result in a modkill. This includes but is not limited to: directly quoting modchats (please paraphrase if you are going to share information gained through this), using or faking screenshots of Cassandra, or verifying information by asking for or saying the Xth word or letter in a role or information given by me. Do not ask for timestamps to ask when night results are given out. Lj made a beautiful post here and I will abide by it. If you are unsure if something counts as metagaming, please ask first.

8) Do not purposefully get yourself modkilled for any reason, even if your death in the game somehow helps your own team. This may result in a permanent ban from my future games. At the same time, do not encourage anyone to do this. You will be met with the same punishment.

9) Never delete a single post. If you are going to edit a post, keep the change minor and explain what it was you changed. Keep editting to an absolute minimum. You cannot edit votes or nightfalls away and they will still count.

10) I reserve the right to alter my set of rules in the future and change them depending on the game. Any changes will be stated above.

11) I rank my games' complexity like this:
Noob: Minimum actions. Open role set.
Low: All possible roles are known. Rolesets include what you would find in a "hi" game or a matrix game.
Medium: Roles may be hidden. The number of evils is likely known.
High: Roles may be hidden. The number of evils may be unknown. Roles, rolesets, or game mechanics may enter "experimental" territory.
Extreme: All the qualities of a "high" complexity game, but alignment conversion may be possible or alternate victory conditions may be possible. Extensive use of the physics system may be used.

Twilight Zone game mechanics:
This is a 17 player hidden roles game.
Each player will be assigned an episode of the twilight zone (seasons 1,2,3, or 5).
You will not be told what episode you are. You will instead be told the minimal amount of information needed for your role to function. Some of them will be obvious, others may leave you completely in the dark. Others somewhere in between, perhaps in the twilight zone.
This game is guaranteed to have wonky mechanics. Be prepared.
Flavor is given more consideration than balance although balance is attempted. This game is mostly just for fun.
A bulk of the roles will have a "trick" to them that you'll have to figure out.
Figuring out which episode you may be will be key into discovering any possible uninformed parts to your role.
NOBODY is a plain ordinary villager. If you are told you are anything similar, you have a hidden attribute of some sort.

What to expect (or not expect):
What will be in the game: A majority of good aligned players and a minority of evil aligned players, Flavorful roles, Normal win conditions, Attempted game balance, Only one wolf(max evil) team, You will not be lied to about your role but hidden attributes are possible. Dead player interaction.

What MIGHT be in the game: Auxes and cubs, Items, vote manipulation, hidden attributes, up to 1 false reveal, 1 or more false views (tinker, alpha, etc), player resurrection, Cover roles for evil players, roles with multiple abilities, role conversion.

What will not be in the game: Physics, Alignment conversion, Role or character assassins of any sort. Neutrals. Spoilers.

Other info:
This is a 15 player game with an unknown number of evils.
No night posting unless specifically told that you may.
Reveals in this specific game will be default reveal. (Episode, role descriptor, and alignment)

Win Conditions:
Team good wins when all wolves are eliminated.
Team evil wins when wolves achieve parity: when the number of remaining wolves equal the number of remaining non-wolves. Aux and non-promoted traditional cubs will not count toward wolf parity if they exist at all. Promoted cubs, should they exist, will count for wolf parity.

Lynch:
Dusk is at 4:00pm BGG time.
Dawn is at 4:30pm BGG time.
Longest Held Last Vote settles ties.
Nightfall is enabled.
If there is vote manipulation, I will not post adjusted tallies but I will confirm no mistakes have been made if someone is lynched without obvious majority.

Misc:
Please do not post after you are dead unless otherwise stated.
If you have any questions about the game at all, please ask.
This game will not be run alongside any of my other games. I'll only do one at any given time.

Warning: Side effects of playing this game may include but are not limited to paranoia or a general sense of madness, confusion, a feeling of being overwhelmed, a feeling of helplessness, being turned into a living, dead, and/or undead talking doll or dummy, a renewed addiction to Netflix, hypochondria, a sudden increase of twomil games, sadism, masochism, a combination of sadism or masochism, and a permanent plight into realms unknown.

I'd love to play this, but I'll also be at CabinCon from the 4th through the 11th. Just a heads up if this fills by the 1st.

I can always put it off until then.
This set can have a variable number of players by the way. Just capped at 17.

Picture if you will, a curious Majai...

He chose to join a highly thematic game that may be more than just a PBF game...

He may have entered...

After a bit of thought, I shortened this to 15 players.
Just wasn't satisfied with a couple of roles.

The Cassandra Automatic Vote Tally System

Your Moderator has enabled the Cassandra Automatic Vote Tally system
for this game. In order for it to function correctly, your votes will
need to be formatted correctly. The following rules will explain what
you will need to do:

Players
1. All votes must be bolded

2. The entire vote statement must be bolded and enclosed in brackets:
[vote jmilum]

3. If your game allows, and you [vote nightfall] your vote will
be locked. Your moderator may have disabled nightfall votes.

4. Vote tallies will be automatically posted to the game thread
regularly if the tally has changed. The Tally and Vote Logs (for each
game day) are also available on the Cassandra game page.

5. If your vote is not counted be sure to check the Vote Log page and
see if it was marked invalid and why.

6. Case does not matter and simple typos will not cause the vote to fail.

7. You may [vote no lynch] if your game allows it.

8. Non voting players will be listed in the tallies. This will only be
correct if the Moderator notes which players have been killed (see below)

9. Editing a vote post will invalidate the vote and it will not be counted.

Moderators
1. The moderator will need to post [Dawn] when the day begins
(after the night results are posted) and [Dusk] when the lynch
deadline has passed and the day is over. Votes will not be counted
after [Dusk] has been posted. They will be registered again
after [Dawn] is next posted.

2. You may include a day number in the dawn and dusk post for
informational purposes, but it will not be used by the system.
Cassandra will increment an internal counter each time it sees
[Dawn] no matter what day is shown in a dawn post (i.e.
[Dawn 3] the three is allowed but ignored)

3. After dusk has been posted, the Moderator may go to the game page
on Cassandra to request a Final Tally to be posted before the normal
scan period has elapsed (i.e. Game Y gets scanned at 45 min. after the
hour, if it lynches at 7pm the moderator may request a tally to be
posted from the game page before 7:45pm. it will also be posted
regardless of whether or not it has been changed since the last
posting) - Do this by clicking on the 'Force Vote Tally' link.

4. You will need to note which players were killed via the lynch or at night by
either posting [killed jmilum] in the thread, or by going to the game
page and editing the player list. When posting in the thread, be sure to post
[dusk] before posting the lynch kill, and post [dawn] before
posting the night kill.
Example:
A. lynch time has passed so post [dusk]
B. goto the game page and select a final tally to be posted
C. check the final tally and post [killed melsana]
D. after the night deadline has passed post [dawn]
E. post the night kill with [killed kima]

Your Moderator has chosen to use the Longest Held Last Vote method for a tiebreaker - This is just for Cassandra system, and there may be a different tiebreaker specified by your Moderator in the ruleset.
Your Moderator has chosen to allow Nightfall votes.
Your Moderator has chosen to allow No Lynch votes.

Five o'clock on a Monday. An ordinary scene in an ordinary city with ordinary people. To most of them, the time will be a pleasing hour ending their workday. To others, namely 15 of them, time will be their enemy as they are cast into a world of fear and doubt.

[dawn]

Day 1 begins. You may now post. Dusk is at 4:00pm Tuesday.
Good luck to all of you.
