Even with a full 5 players I always feel like the game feels too short with everyone being the sheriff twice and just right if everyone gets three chances. This doesn't really seem to effect the game too much except everyone has higher scores... Does anyone else do this? Does three rounds alter the gaming experience too much?

We did once by accident and honestly it was a bad experience for us. Just took way too long for what the game is.

After two rounds (10 Sheriffs) there's likely to be far less Legal goods in the decks which will make the final round either great for whoever is Sheriff at the time, or barely worth playing as only one or two Legal goods are going in each bag.

We played several times with 3 rounds, but started adjusting to 2 rounds so we would not get overly tired of the game. Have had it on the shelf for a couple years after feeling we played it out, but I am looking forward to trying with the expansion because it is my 13 year old's favorite game.
