Yesterday we felt like we kind of trivialized England Lvl 3 by spamming Boon of Vigor which pretty much gave Lightning 5 Energy almost every round (except for the first two or so, obviously), meaning that Lightning had 7 energy every round (5 + 1 from growth + 1 from presence bar) and kept destroying cities with his innate. River himself also started spamming his top-tier innate from Round 4, clearing himself the most densely populated lands by adding damage from Flash Floods to get rid of cities. Do you think this is a viable strategy even for higher levels of England?

On the other hand, I'm not sure if we really went with the perfect opening. Especially Lightning is a bit problematic here, since he only had 5 presence on the board throughout the game. We thought about ways of making him get a 3rd Sacred Site in the early rounds, but we couldn't find one. Is there a possible way of doing it?

For Lightning, we went with:
Round 1 - Growth 2 presence (from bottom) - play 0 cards
Round 2 - Growth +3 Energy / 1 presence (from bottom) - play all cards except Raging Storm, for obvious reasons
Round 3 - reclaim + spam fire cards for innate
Round 4 - rinse repeat (for the rest of the game Lightning didn't place any more presence)

Can you see a more efficient way which would maybe give him a third Sacred Site (as well as 6 card plays)?

If you give Lightning enough energy from Boon of Vigor in Rounds 1 & 2, then in Round 2 couldn't you use Growth 2 again, because he wouldn't need the 3 Energy?

Although, if you're playing with Lightning+River, how much Presence does Lightning need? If River keeps pushing the Towns within reach of Lightning's sacred site(s), Lightning doesn't need to expand its reach that much.

Once Lightning has 5 cards a turn if River feeds him energy he doesn't need to put any more presence on the board and can just keep wrecking stuff each turn.

Check my thread from a couple weeks ago. My opening doesn't hit spam reclaim until Turn 5 for lightning, but you end up with four sacred sites, a stronger first few turns, and the energy generation to go for a major power after a couple reclaims.
