1) There have been several threads on this one but it is still not completely clear to me.

Regarding opportunity fire, simply roll dice equal to the total number of Russian units adjacent to at least one attacking German stack. Is this correct? My understanding is that it is, even though that can mean that hits could in some instances be inflicted on German units THREE HEXES AWAY from a particular Russian unit that scores an opportunity fire hit. I don't really have a problem with it. I just need to be sure that is the correct intent of the rule

2) I have the Upgrade Plus Pack. What in the world do I do with it?

I would guess the battle marker marks the battle hex and the dice are just replacements. What are the little flags for?

I'm ready to tackle this game once these things are clarified!

The flags are alternative spawn/ victory-hex markers (as seen on the box)

regarding the other question:

Quote:

"in which the Soviets are defending, each Soviet Unit
adjacent to each German attacking Stack(s) - including
those in the attacked hex - rolls one die (SF).

I understood this rule just like you do but Emanuele, the designer, confirmed that "it's just meant to mean that a soviet stack is included as long as it is next to at least one German stack in the attack."
