Hey there,

Here's a recommendation for all you German-speaking Gaia lovers out there: In the latest episode of my board game podcast "Solo Manolo" I had a long, interesting talk with my two awesome guests: There's Lines who is part of the Automa Factory and talks about the development of the Automa. And there's Jochen, who has played Gaia Project more than 200 times (most of it solo) and talks strategy, opening moves, favorite races, beginner mistakes and so on. I had a great time talking to these guys and I think the result is really worth listening to. You can find the episode in the podcatcher of your choice. You can also listen to it on my blog or download it directly from there:

https://udfa2h.podcaster.de/solomanolo/folge-15-per-anleitun...

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Sebastian

Über das Spiel gibt es so unglaublich viel zu erzählen, zwei Stunden sind doch gar nichts :-) Vor allem, wenn man zwei so auskunftsfreudige und kompetente Gäste hat.

Thanks for posting your podcast here! Even though I am not interested in the solo mode (which is this episodes main focus), I've found the bit about what happened to the Lantids particularly interesting, as we also tend to discuss this a lot in my group (none of us have any ties to the devs, so we are always left with assumptions about the development process).

Thank you for taking the time to talk about Automas (again).

I can't find your podcast on the iOS podcast app. Am I doing something wrong? Is it not there? Or is the problem that the podcast is only available in some places because it's in German?

Thanks Morten! You should find it when you search for "Solo Manolo", but maybe you're right and it's only available in the German app :-( Not sure about that...

AFAIK the App Store allows you to choose countries or regions, where the app should be available. Maybe the same goes for podcasts?

You'll always be a star in our hearts

Meanwhile, I've told Lines that I won't speak with him again until he translates the entire episode into English for me and reads it to me bedtime-story style. I'll let you know how that turns out

Well, that’s sort of what he did for you with the Gaia rulebook back when we only had it in German, so I think that by extension he’s obligated to do the same now .

Well, you know what they say: Family isn't a word. It's a sentence.

I listened to the episode yesterday.

The noise of trains, cars, and the general noisiness of walking around in Copenhagen meant that I missed some of it and given how long it's been since I played the game plus things being named differently in German made it hard to follow the discussions of strategy.

Other than that, though, I really enjoyed it. It had a nice cozy vibe of three friends sitting together, talking about a shared hobby and you made me smile multiple times.

Thank you for taking the time to make it.

Thanks Morten! That's exactly the vibe I was aiming for :-) And thanks for listening to the episode despite all the distractions and foreign language inadequacies ;-)
