Is it me, or are pages 6 and 7 in the wrong order?

The printed rulebook is the correct order, so that's good.

A page appears precisely when it means to?

But what is the question?

Quick view of the rule booklets. There is something that nags me since a few days and I couldn't find an answer to.

The weaknesses that are randomly shuffled in the skill deck do not seem to have any mechanical effect so why have a facedown deck (with variety) to draw from?

Yeah, I was wondering this as well. Possibly the app will refer to them in some way (I hope so), though you think they'd at least mention it in the rules somewhere. Unless that effect isn't coming until an expansion, of course.

The weaknesses are there to basically clog up the deck or, since you can prepare a weekness, your prepared area. Just a bit of strategy, and the reason they are different is simply to keep things as thematic as possible. I suppose each character could have had its own weaknesses to make it more thematic... but yeah.

The only purposes the weaknesses serve that I can see is, as mentioned, to be a dead card in your deck which will appear during scouting or skill tests. No words on them, just art--but maybe they're shuffled and placed face down for variety purposes, add to the "story-telling" flavor during the course of the adventure, depending on which weakness you get since they're all different.

I think it would be cool if it would affect the game at some point, like the app stating "If anyone in a tile with darkness has X weakness prepared, Y happens."

Completely agree. If all the weaknesses are effectively identical, I will be very disappointed.

They are all mechanically identical but I think they are future proofing this (re: the face down deck)

The weakness cards all have different names so maybe they could have some mechanical function at some point, besides just being a dead card with cool, larger art.

1. Does a counter-attack exhaust an enemy? Or can they counter-attack and then attack again in the shadow phase?

2. Because rally phase is last, do you not start the game with the opportunity to prepare any cards? This seems fairly clear, but goes against most deck-building conventions.

Thanks!

The set-up in the app (for the first adventure at least) has you scout 2 as the last step.

1 - A non-elite unit cannot counter-attack if they are already exhausted. Elite units CAN counter-attack if exhausted. There is nothing in the rules reference indicating that counter-attacking exhausts.

2 - Well, you are preparing your #1 role card at the start of the game.

Edit...ah, haven't started the app yet.

Page 13 in rules under Provoke: "Unlike an enemy activation or counterattack, an enemy group is not exhausted when it is provoked."

but I cannot find this anywhere under Counterattack. It might me a mistake.

What is it that's missing under "Counterattack"?
