This game seems a bit pricey for what you get. I will play mostly solo but how does it play with others that are around 12 years old? Is this worth the price?

I definitely think so. I think it plays wonderfully solo, perhaps its best player count. I haven't played it with kids, yet, but if they are into the theme I think it would go over well.

However, if you are on the fence, the creator plans to have another Crowd Sale next month that will lower the price some.

Both my 6 year old (with some help) and my 9 year old love the game. They love the cooperative aspect of the game. Well worth the price.

Mike - do you play with both of them for a 3-player co-op tournament?

Absolutely worth the price. I only play solo and I'm having a great time with the theme and the mechanics.

Brandon,

I've played a couple of times with just me and my son when it was just the two of us. When it was all three, we did play co-op rules because my daughter prefers co-op to competitive when given the choice. It worked just fine...and we still barely beat the AI (we doubled the AIs score as per the rules).

I want to echo this because during the sale, you will be able to get everything at once to save shipping on top of the $5-$12 dollars off each big item like the base game, playmat, and the Tacklebox expansion (which will be the main new item with 3-4 new expansions in it along with a sweet new box to hold most everything).

Once all the design is done, I plan to make an “all in” bundle on The Game Crafter so that new Anglers who want it all at once (including the dice module) will be able to get it for a lower price. But this will be probably in Jan 2020 at the earliest.

But even if you had to pay full $ for it, I think it is well worth it because there is a lot of game and fun in the box with true solo, co-op, and competitive modes.

It may just be me, but this is one of those games that never really gets old either. It’s always a challenge and seems to uncannily have one or two moments of magic in each game that make you shake your head in excitement.

Next month some time (sorry, have no set date yet).

I ordered the new box (with dividers) and dice stuff recently and it should be here early next week for a look-over so that I can see if it's all good to go.

I will make a post here about it once all the details are ironed out.

Did that big sale happen yet? I'm betting I missed it.

I decided instead to make 2 bundle packages.

One has all-In-Gameplay, everything except the tacklebox and playmat.

The other includes all 5 expansions, for those that already have the base game.

It provides about a 14% discount overall.
