We have bon gamer friends. We've gotten them into Machi koro. So much that it's worn out for them.

Is next iteration Space Base or Suburbia?

Would you like that with soup or salad?

I'll take the mozzarella sticks.

Advanced Squad Leader Space Base (over Valeria: Card Kingdoms for a Machi-koro like game, though that game’s decent too)

Assuming you want a game that plays similar to Machi Koro, that is. Suburbia is fun, but there’s a lot of calculating of things that non-gamers might find fiddly. Might be okay if you want something that feels different, but it’s more of a risk without knowing your friends.

I have eaten some Netrunner counters, a treasure token from Nemo's War, and a First Martians condition token. Also maybe a Fallout "L" token.

If they want something similar in concept, the Space Base. But if they’ve not tried tiles, maybe go to NEOM,Castles of Mad King Ludwig, Quadropolis, or Suburbia.

Suburbia is a wonderful game. The game mechanisms all make sense because of how strongly they are tied to the theme. It's easy to grasp. Towards late-game, however, there is a lot to keep track of. I don't find this problematic at all, but newer gamers might).

The game also leaves a wonderful sense of accomplishment, wether you won or not.

Next step: Warsaw: City of Ruins

If you like the engine building of Machi Koro, I also recommend Gizmos. There are no dice, so the randomness is greatly reduced. We prefer it to Splendor and Century: Spice Road.
