Previously we had this exchange...

Quick question: what is our plan with the environment? With the tumbleweed and the Rift both destroying one environment card, we have a lot of options.

My preference is to destroy everything except the tumbleweed; it means that if we get a good environment we keep it by destroying the tumbleweed, and if we get a bad one we just destroy it with the tumbleweed.

I was thinking the same thing.

Sounds good to me. I can usually use Sneaking to pick any aggression modulators back up.

So that's what I'm going with!

Start:
- RiT destroys RiT
- PT destroys FS
Play: Crushing Hallway
End:

Will anyone discard their hand to destroy Crushing Hallway?

Re: PBF #137 - The Hero We Need
If nothing happens to the tumbleweed, it should be able to destroy the hallway for us next turn, so I lean toward not discarding.

The only hesitation I have is if Infinitor does draw a "hit everything" card, we'll need to destroy the hallway on our own, because losing all of our ongoings will mess up Chronoranger and myself pretty badly. I don't have any environment destruction in my hand, but I do have some in my deck that I could search for. Anyone else have a good way to take out an environment card if we have to?

CR just drew a second Hunter and Hunted, so even though I have a small hand two of these are not terribly useful and I would be willing to discard one to be sure to hit this.

If you are willing and would rather lose that card than risk losing all the ongoings, I'd say go for it. Hopefully I can find my Counterpoint Bulwark that lets other people draw cards.

That seems a good use of an otherwise not terribly useful card. I'll discard it.

Note that it's "1 player may discard their hand to destroy CH", not a single card.

Oh. OK. I think I'll still do it. Better no cards and a well-powered Masadah than no ongoings and a sub-par hand.

Re: PBF #137 - The Hero We Need

Start
Play: Crazed Artifice
- Crazed Artifice, Insanity, Machinations of a Madman, and Whispers of Oblivion are revealed from the top of the Villain deck and discarded
- - No Manifestations revealed; Whispers of Oblivion played from the top of the Villain deck

The following things now happen in any order:
- Infinitor deals Infinitor 1 + 1 [Infinitor] - 1 [EB1] = 1 Psychic damage
- Infinitor deals OS1-3, TM1-3, and RH 1 + 1 - 1 [Infinitor] = 1 Psychic damage; TM1 is placed under Infinitor
- Infinitor deals DS 1 + 1 [Infinitor] = 2 Psychic damage; Argent Adept may use a Power
- Infinitor deals Captain Cosmic 1 + 1 [Infinitor] + 1 [Nemesis] = 3 Psychic damage; WB reacts and deals Infinitor 2 + 1 [Nemesis] - 1 [EB1] = 2 Energy damage
- Infinitor deals Sky-Scraper 1 + 1 [Infinitor] = 2 Psychic damage
- Infinitor deals Chrono-Ranger 1 + 1 [Infinitor] - 1 [EB2] = 1 Psychic damage

Is there a particular order you want things to happen?

Depends on what shenanigans AA can arrange. Ideal would be anything that permits enough damage to a second manifestation to get it to collapse - either direct damage from AA or triggering another power useage or card play from someone else (CC's construct wipe?).

Oh goody, one of the mass-damage cards! We want to manage this carefully.

I can give out two actions, they can be either card plays or powers. I can also give +1 damage to those actions. So, who can reduce the most manifestations to 1 HP with that? If we can do that, we can make the most of this attack by Infinitor.

With a card play and a +1 damage I can reduce 5x manifestations to 1 HP...(although I'll have to blow away all the constructs to do it)

That is likely better than anything I could do at this point. My only damage-dealing cards right now are Explosive Reveal and Catch a Ride. The former doesn't yet have many links out to blow up, and the latter is single-target damage.

Re: PBF #137 - The Hero We Need
So, if I've got this right, I think we are about to win.

Order of damage:
Infinitor & Chrono-ranger each take 1 Psychic (EB1 & EB2 reduce damage)
Next deal 2 damage to Dynamic Syphon, Argent Adept can use a power
Power1: - Xu's Bell, Activate the Perform text of a Rhythm card and the Accompany text of either a Rhythm card or a Harmony card.
- Perform: Syncopated Onslaught: Select up to 2 Targets. Until the start of your next turn, increase Damage dealt by those Targets by 1 - choose Captain Cosmic and Argent Adept to get +1 damage
- Accompany: Alacritous Subdominant: You may use a Power now. If you do, destroy this card.
* Power2: - Musaragni's Harp: Activate the Perform text of a Harmony card and the Accompany text of a Harmony card
* - Perform: Alacritous Subdominant: One Player may play 1 card now - choose Captain Cosmic to play 1 card
* - Accompany: Alacritous Subdominant: You may use a Power now. If you do, destroy this card
* * Power3: - Telamon's Lyra: Activate the Perform text of a Harmony card and the Accompany text of a Rhythm card
* * - Perform: Inspiring Supertonic: One Player may use a Power now - choose ChronoRanger to use a power now
* * - Accompany: Syncopated Onslaught: The Argent Adept deals 1 Target 1 Sonic Damage (+1 from Syncopated Onslaught). (waiting on target until after ChronoRanger & Captain Cosmic are done to see if there is anything that needs one more point of damage to take out)

....

I think at the end of that, we can get everything to 1 HP. Let's see how we do!

Play: Construct Cataclysm - Destroy all construct cards and then deal X targets 3 + 1 [Syncopated Onslaught] - 1 [Villain effect of some sort] = 3 Energy damage each where X = the number of constructs destroyed (I believe there are currently 5 constructs out).

5 undamaged manifestations, you can bring each of those down to 1 HP. 1 at 2 HP, which CR can bring to 0. 1 at 1 HP, which doesn’t need to be messed with.

Since one of the undamaged manifestations is a twisted miscreation, and reduces damage to one, we can have Chronoranger hit that one for irreducible damage.

I think that is game over, though!

Actually, it isn’t destroyed until the first power use has finished resolving. Check out https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1323854/argent-adepts-infin... for an example of how this could work to play all of the Adept’s instruments in a turn.

EDIT: I also found this on the GtG forums: https://greaterthangames.com/forum/topic/alacritous-subdomin... - that points out the wording similarity to another card we already have a ruling for

Got it! I'm very pleased I don't have to undo and retcon all of this insanely complicated turn up to that point...
