I agree with a few others that the terraforming symbol should be brown and not green as in the original to avoid confusion

Thanks, I'm going to take a pass through stuff and see how much like the current icons I need to be.

I don't think people will want to reprint their round boosters, science tiles, and other smaller components, so I need to at least be recognizable compared to those.

Of course if I did kickstart this, I would literally reprint the entire game, I just am not sure of how that would work legally. I'm worried that if my game no longer requires the base game of GP to play, then Z-Man would not be happy.

I meant the terraforming steps symbol is brown in color on the tech board too and hence to avoid confusion it should mimic that and be brown and not green as you have done.

I moved the text to the bottom so that we can use both text and images.

I made sure everything has iconography that will make sense with other parts of the game that are original.

I made the teraforming > Area 1/2 arrow white

I moved around the right side of the board to use a flowchart similar to the original as well as moving the gaiaformers back to a position that works with overlays

I clarified the 2>3 free action iconography

I agree. I voted for using the other artists' work just because I thought it would be easier for Aaron -- but perhaps a Kickstarter could pay for whatever licensing fee those artists would require?

These look fantastic! Just one small typo - "Institute" is spelled wrong in the 'Planetary Institute' header down the bottom...

I love the direction this project is going towards.



IVITS
The iconography for the concept "space stations are considered 1-power structures" is weird. The black conversion arrow seems to indicate that you can sacrifice a space station for charging 1 power.
I suggest depicting a space station with a power token over a vertical line (like the ones used in the structure sections).



Also, it's a pity you won't redesign round boosters, bonus tiles and federation tokens: it would have been a good chance for finally settling the hexagon-octagon discrepancy between the plastic token and the iconography. laugh

Your best bet would be to just contact Feuerland Spiele (original publisher) and ask for permission or work out a contract with them if you intend to monetize your work on Gaia Project. Anything else and you’ll take flak.

In the Taklons' last version, one of the tech tile symbols has the remnants of the minus sign's circle, while the rest has not. This is probably a mistake.

I'll get these changes in.

As far as the round boosters etc, I will need to talk to the publisher about that and get back to you guys!

I love how the game contradicts itself by making the research token be a hexagon but all the art is an octagon

I bought today 40 sheets for 10€ (I think online even cheape) for all races and more to print out

I have sent an email off to the publisher. I asked for the artwork for the races as well as a blessing to do a Kickstarter. I also asked if they would be okay with this being an expansion or extension to the base Gaia Project game since the alternative is basically me recreating all the resources of the game.

I will keep you guys posted! At the very least I will finish these up with attributed artist work and just put the PDFs on here so you guys can print them out yourselves.

Aaron,

Amazing work on the whole redesign.

I notice that in the latest version, you have further summarized the iconography for gaiaforming in the terraforming table, perhaps to a degree that can be confusing to new players.

Have you considered describing the colonisation of Gaia planets and Transdim planets on two seperate lines? You could make it the top two lines if you want to have icons linking the Gaiaformer spots to the Transdim icon.
