So I was thinking this forum needs a pinned post - please add your favourite, tried and tested, kids game to the lists (don't post them in the comments), and any thoughts that you might have.

Recommendations for ....
meeple Game recommendations for 2 - 3 year olds
Game recommendations for 4 - 6 year olds
goo Game recommendations for 6 - 8 year olds
ninja Game recommendations for 8 - 10 year olds
arrrh Game recommendations for 10+ year olds

wowGame recommendations for families - CO-OP games

(More lists to come over the next few days)

Game recommendations with a solo mode for 4 - 8 year olds
Game recommendations with a solo mode for 8+ year olds
Game recommendations for families with kids < 10 years old (that suit a wide age gap.)
Game recommendations for families (that adults will enjoy playing repeatedly)
Game recommendations for Educational Games (trick question, there is no such thing as a non-educational game)

Help modifying adult games

place holder, I know there are some good geeklists and posts on this topic

It would be helpful if you linked to all the lists in the header for each GeekList, especially since some of the age categories can be fluid and because some adults may be looking for recommendations for games for many different age groups. Thanks.

Good idea. I will cross-reference everything when I have finished adding them (or even just a link back to this post might make more sense... just one single spot).

I was originally going to create the list above as a geeklist of geeklists (and I may do that too) but I like seeing the links on a topic.

No mention of Tsuro, Roll for It, Fill or Bust, Karuba, Hey That's My Fish, Ligretto, Kids of Carcassonne, Junior Catan, Mini Zooloretto, Exploding Kittens, Happy Salmon, & Rhino Hero (plus Super Battle) - all of which our 5 now 6 yr old has managed [Tsuro & Roll for it from age 4, Kids of Carcassone aged 3).

For older kids i.e. age 8 there's Azul, Stone Age, Barenpark, Splendor, Love Letter, Oceanos, One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Cacao, Uno, Rummikub.

10 and up - Odin's Ravens, Guillotine, Bohnanza, Century Spice Road.

Older still - Castles of Burgundy, Sheriff of Nottingham.

Please add them to the lists, and a comment about what makes them good for those ages.
