Alex and Fernando walked away from college with a swagger, business diplomas in hand ready to tackle the exciting world of Acquire!!!
Alex founded Alex Corp. And had early success - founding two new hotel chains the Imperial and the Continental, investing as heavily as possible in both.
Fernando on the other hand started Vasco Industries and plodded along aimlessly for the first few years not doing much other than investing in already established businesses.
Alex Corp's success went from good to great with another two hotel chains, Festive and Worldwide staking a claim in the northwest. Again she invested heavily but stayed with her two darling continental and Imperial, unfortunately the company was now devoid of cash on hand...
Vasco Industries decided it had a bit of catching up to do and tried their hand at investing in some smaller companies hoping for a big payoff later on down the road. Their time finally came with the market saturated by 7 chains, when the Luxor was taken over by the Imperial. The stockmarket had 5 stocks making it the second majority while Vasco walked away with a tidy little sum. Spurred on by the quick wins they proceeded to buy up stocks in the two remaining small companies Worldwide and Tower, whilst re-establishing the Luxor name and again investing heavily.
While Imperial grew, the other chains stayed small - in particular the continental which was in a remote south western corner saw little action despite its high flying nature.
Finally the market began to move with 3 quick mergers in succession, Luxor, Worldwide and Tower, all eaten up by the conglomerate known as Imperial - Vasco Industries slowly built up their holdings in Imperial by trading away the smaller companies stocks. Being a majority shareholder in all ther mergers also meant they had money to invest in the growing Festival brand.
Finally the time had come for the behemoth known as Imperial to conquer its onyl real competitor - Festival and rule the Hotel Industry. The battle for majority in Festival was a close one but the extra income from the smaller mergers had allowed Vasco industries to buy just enough festival to become a major partner.
And so the game ended with Vasco holding a large liquid sum (30K) and a majority in the largest Chain in the known world, thus claiming the Acquire crown!
