I don´t have the case name in front of me but my question concerns the case where you have to clear frog nests ...

Spoiler (click to reveal)
...and encounter the Huge Frog Monster Boss.
During this case you encounter the boss already in one of the first three rooms but it only hast 8 Health and will run away after you did those 8 damage to him.
Later in the scenario a case file card instructs you to put 6 damage markers on that card. Any markers that is on the card when the confrontation begins reduces the Health of the boss.

During setup of the confrontation the case file card says something like “if the boss has taken any damage beforehand, reduce its health on the health track. Does this damage include the damage from first encounters you had with the boss during it´s appearances before the confrontation started?

We played it that way that only the remaining damage counters from the case file card reduced its health. Is that correct?

What a great and game this is. We enjoy it a lot!

You played it correct.

You have to find the boss fast to benefit from making damage earlier. Thematically he is healing when giving time to do so.

I think the case is called :"Hunting Party"

Thanks! Yes it was Hunting party. Our confusions was...

Spoiler (click to reveal)
...that we weren´t sure if also the 8 damage we did during the first encounter should reduce his 20 health. But with the 6 from the case file card and those 8 damage there wouldn´t have been left much health.
Our confrontation triggered early due to the doom track.

If the Giant Frog Monster has suffered any damage, record this on the Confrontation track and remove any damage markers next to the Boss
is meant to be used, if the boss is on the board at the time the Confrontation is triggered. You just exchange the red damage markers with steps on the confrontation board after flipping it.

You do not add the damage you inflicted before the boss ran away after beating it the first or second time.

[damage at the start of the confrontation] = 20 - ["lasting harm" damage] - [current damage on boss]
