The New York City Boardgames & Cardgames Meetup usualy meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month from 6:00pm to Midnight at the Neutral Ground Gaming Room. This month, the two normal meetups were canceled as Neutral Ground is in the process of moving their store to a new location. They're supposed to reopen next Friday, so there is a rescheduled meetup on Thursday, October 25th. You can find more info at the NYC Guild here on the Geek.

There is usually a pretty wide range of games played at the meetups, as attendance is usually in the area of 20-30 people. klz_fc has been making geeklists of what's been played, you can view them here: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/173385

Welcome to NYC!

As Daniel said, the NYC Guild (http://boardgamegeek.com/guild/175) is a good place to post for gaming in the area.

There's both the Boardgame Meetup at Neutral Ground (generally every other Thursday) and the club at Columbia Law School (generally every other Friday). They both play similar eurogames, and seem to play the kinds of things you would like from glancing over your collection/ratings.

Hope to meet you at one of these events in the near future

The Guild's page has a little info on the club:

Quote:
Local game groups open to the public

* Columbia Strategic Simulation Society: Meets on alternating Fridays from 7:00pm to 1:00am (during the Fall, Winter and Spring). CSSS is held at Columbia University (Jerome Greene Hall, 435 West 116th Street, Room 304).
* New York City Boardgames & Cardgames Meetup: Meets on 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month from 6:00pm to Midnight. This club is held at the Neutral Ground Gaming Room.

Local game stores

* Neutral Ground: 122 West 26th Street, 4th Floor (between 6th and 7th Avenue), 212-633-1288
* The Compleat Strategist: 11 East 33rd Street (between Madison and Fifth Avenue), 212-685-3880

There's also a link to the Columbia club's webpage: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/csss/ which is a bit out-of-date now since it hasn't been updated in 6 months, but still has some useful info on there, like a map to the building and lists of past games played, plus the club's e-mail address. Anyway, there's actually a meeting tonight (and then probably another on Friday, October 26) which I hope to make it to, with Imperial and San Marco in tow, but there'll be tons of other club games there.
