Hi Everyone: I wanted to see comments relating to digital expansions that come out through steam online - does anyone know if there is a plan to turn these expansions to physical game form? the new clockwork expansion would be awesome to play physical or beasts expansion as well. thanks

Nope. There wont be any new physical expansions for Talisman for a long time if ever. We gonna get a reprint of the base game and most of the Talisman expansions this fall. This is everything that is going to happen.

The new digital expansions have some mechanics that can't properly be conveyed to a physical one. This actually was the reason why Nomad actually did them, because they didn't have to think in physical restrictions anymore.

The only thing that I was reading on Talismans' future is this. Fantasy Flight lost the license which went back to Games Workshop. Obviously GW is continuing the Talisman franchise - but not the regular game itself but "just" games that are part of the Talisman universe.

What will happen is that GW will release new games as a part of the franchise that are more modern and popular. There are some listings already in the catalogue of the company that does the productions now (just check the first few pages):

I believe talismanisland.com has some of the digital only characters in a printable form.

The digital-only expansions use features which are impossible to duplicate in physical copies, e.g. dynamic creation of new custom cards and cloning of existing cards. The one with an afterlife uses another main board which gets swapped in and out of the game as needed.

Yes, the closest thing to the digital expansions for the board game would be a fan-made version that tweaks them to be more feasible for a physical board game.

It seems like the clockwork expansion would be easy enough to recreate physically with some blank object templates that players can write the effects on with a pen, maybe with a blank space for you to draw your own picture of what it looks like.
