What are the deck construction rules for Shadowfist in relation to the number of the same card you are allowed to use in your deck? Are there any card restrictions or bannings?

You can download the rules on www.shadowfist.com

But the construction rule is a follows: no more than 5 of a particular card. That's it.

And no banned cards.

Zev is, of course, correct.

Decks are typically built with the "Rule of Fives" which means:

1/5 Feng Shui Sites (FSS)
1/5 Foundation Characters (typically 1 cost)
1/5 Non-foundation characters (usually split between cheap useful 'resource ramps' and big hitters (at least 6 fighting)
1/5 Free stuff (usually events)
1/5 Everything else

For any particular card title, you could have up to five copies, but apart from some 'core' cards a mixture of less tends to work well.

For new players, I suggest the rule of "Five plus one." Which means figure out how many FSS & Foundation characters you need, and add one. (So I'd build a 60 card deck with 12 FSS and 12 Foundations, then toss in an extra FSS and foundation, to make a 62 card deck).
