I'm trying to figure out how this game is played, to decide if to order or not. How is the combat system? How do you move (ie, can you move freely, or is it more like a gamebook of paragraphs that direct the patrol along predefined paths)? Are there random events? Specific random events to each mission? Preset events in each mission
when reaching certain coordinates? Is there a campaign system with squad members that get experienced and can be reused in new missions (like Ambush!)?

Movement is done on a map. You mark the planned route for your mission. Then you select the move action in a paragraph, it will have you roll a die. This will tell you if you encountered any events or if you moved some distance along your path. The tables change based on moving in the clear or in jungle. Also, you need to stop your movement whenever you reach a road, etc.

I see some of the old versions in online stores.
What about combat? How is it resolved?
How's the replay factor?
