Hi Guys,

Don't know if you saw this article in the WSJ. Apparently Monopoly sets sent to POWS during WWII including escape kits complete with real money, files, compasses and other accessories. See link:

Interesting read - imagine what they could hide inside a FFG big-box

Checkout the book "Escape Factory" by By Lloyd R. Shoemaker. Very cool.

They had companies hide stuff in the actual goods (not altered later) in small production runs. Usually at night with the higher ups running the machine. The one that sticks in my mind was baseballs being made at night by the vice president and president of the company and the Gillett company magnetising some razors and printing a small "N" on one end for use as compasses.

Its OOP but worth tracking down.

I personally use the houses and hotels as buildings for my 6mm miniatures games.

Too bad they couldn't also include a real car instead of a pewter miniature one. And two boots, and a hat ...

Saw that story, very cool. Monopoly had other uses, too, like bringing me and my family pleasure when I was young.

Making the minis out of plastic explosive would be a good start.

Alternatively, claim that the game is missing some pieces and send the box back - with a POW inside.
