First of all, what do you get with the box? Mine has a bunch of low quality tiles and 4 shaky stands to put them on. The tiles are just 2 decks of cards (but with 2 jokers) in tile form.
Can this be overcome with inventive rules? sigh, no, the only rules given are one for a mediocre rummy game without partners. Just toss all the tiles that you legally can on the table and that's all there is folks. We didn't play with a time limit, but after a few hands, we thought, geez, you mean you actually *need* more than 2 minutes to think of what to play?
Gah, save yourself some anguish/money and just play some dominoes or canasta. This is just a cheap gimmick.
Seems like this game has fallen in price over the past 5 years or so!
Plenty of decent games for less than £10. Pack of cards comes to mind. The components are quite good, maybe they think it makes up for the rules quality. But you can certainly make some more games which use those components, they are pretty generic.
