That's a little sad. Do you look at the referer to send users searching for a game to the game's page?
An interesting discussion about the perceived difficulty of navigating BGG for new users can be found here I suspect some of the items discussed factor into the one-time visitor percentage.
But I will admit that I do not know if ~40% is a high number or a low number compared to other sites against which we might make a comparison.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if a lot of the one-time visitors weren't looking for board games at all, but found the site while Googling for some other information (e.g. information about Puerto Rico (the country) or Goa (the City)).
