I had noticed that some of the photos posted on various Geek forums had a blurb about what kind of camera the shot was taken with.

I assumed that this was something proud camera owners somehow added.

Then I added some photos of my own today and, checking back to see if they had been posted, I happened to glance in the camera area.

Yep-- that is what I was using. It even nailed the lens I used.

So is there some sort of tagged info that comes along with my jpg?

That's impressive-- how do day do dat?

It's called EXIF data - and it's embedded into your image files by your camera.
