This is my first session report to the geek. It is more a story recap of events which occurred in the game. The beginning is more or less turn by turn, but it quickly switches to a more time compressed mode. I apologize for any confusing terminology or incorrect character names.

We played the first scenario 4 player with 2 on 2. Each player took a 300 point army. We didn't do an official draft as we didn't know the characters, so we kind of gave one side the good, one side the evil and divided up the rest and then kind of swapped back the remainder.

My army consisted of the defensive viking hero, the paratroopers and the sargeant. My partner had the dino rider, valkyrie and agents/men in black. Our opponents had deathwalker, the other two robots and the mind control guy for one player and the elf/legolas type guy, mimring the dragon and bone dudes on the other player.

The valkyrie ran up first and flew onto the hills in the center. The robots immediately came up and shot, inflicting some wounds. The elf then did the same. The viking ran up into the fray, but has no ranged attack.
The dino headed down around the hills. The robots continued to blast, putting the valkyrie near death. The dragon ran up and attempted to flame the viking but did no damage. The sergeant also ran around the hills toward the water.
Next the agents came out. They ran up and shot the dragon. The three of them were able to completely destroy the dragon. The big robot moved in, but wasn't able to hit anything. The other player was supposed to move the dragon, but it was dead so the turn was lost. The sergeant continued his advance.

On round two we decided to drop in the paratroopers. One appeared on the end behind the water, near the runes behind the ruins. One appeared behind the agents. The other 2 were on the opposite side of the hills, near the elf and robots. They decided to immediately use their grenade attacks, but no significant damage was done. However the trooper near the ruins was able to trigger the teleport rune and brought the valkyrie out of danger. This also brought the valkyrie near the healing rune so the valkyrie stepped on it and got healed. The robots continued to target the viking and eventually took him out. However his spirit lived on and bestowed an extra defense die to the agents. The bone people moved up toward the water and the sergeant and dinosaur advanced towards them.

Some of the infantry were taken out and the robots started to wear on the MiBs. The bone people again went for the valkyrie and did massive damage. The valkyrie was ultimately destroyed, having contributed little for the battle. However the sergeant was able to go up and smash the bone people, leaving only one alive. The infantry also took shots at the elf and he was eventually taken down.

The bone person was able to regenerate one unit, but the sergeant was still in range and killed the new unit. At this point the dinosaur was finally in range and ran up and chomped the last bone guy. Now there was deathwalker, one robot and the mind control guy (who hadn't yet done anything the entire game) against the dinosaur, sergeant and one infantry.

Due to a poor choice of tactics and bad initiative, the dino and sergeant got the advantage on the mind control guy. They did some damage but grimnak was not able to chomp him. He struck back but failed to control any of our units. Deathwalker realized that he could actually hit the sergeant with the explosive attack (normal attacks don't work), and went on to launch an explosion on all three. This did damage sergeant and did not damage his own figure so was successful. However as was inevitable, the mind control figure went down.

Grimnak broke off and reached up the mountain to gnaw on deathwalker who had the high ground. Deathwalker is too big for a chomp attack, but this pinned him so he would have a 50/50 chance of dying if he tried to escape. The sarge was also about to run up to deathwalker, so there was no good move. First he tried to run and rolled a wound so would die. We played it out the other way and he was able to finish off grimnak, but the sergeant finished him off easily. The final robot had no chance. So our side was victorious!
