could some one who has already purchased or at least seen the game "in person" tell me what the start positions are for a six player game as it appears that they must get altered

Do you mean actuall start positions on the board or the areas of influence? The board is exaclty the same with Martell having a Knight and a Footman at Sunspear and a Footman at Salt Shore. Martell's ship is in the Sea of Dorne. Tyrell is the same, their Footman is still in the Dornish Marches.

Influence wise Martell is 4th on the Iron Throne, and Tyrell is now last behind Greyjoy. On the Fiefdoms track Martell is 3rd, everyone else is the same. In King's Court Martell is 3rd before Baratheon, so now Greyjoy and Tyrell both start without star orders.

weird.... so now all but two houses have two supply? wow.. its getting really crowded on that two slot. well thank you very much for the info!

All but 1 house! Baratheon gained a Supply in Kingswood, so Stark is the only house with 1 supply to begin with...
