What is the tiebreaker if 2 or more players tie for first position at game end?

I can't find the answer in the posted English rules...

Re:Tiebreaker ?
GeoMan (#54131),You're right.............the rules do not address a tie at the end. You could say the winner is the one with the most points in tiles excluding the cubes. And if that was a tie, let the yellow cube be the decider.

Re:Tiebreaker ?
skeletodoc (#54158),

I emailed ProLudo and i am waiting for an answer...

Using only the points from tiles as a tiebreaker sounds good, but what if we still have a tie?

Maybe then the person with the most resources (counting Ironworks as 2 points, Glassworks as 3, e.t.c) could win.

And what if we still have a tie?

Re:Tiebreaker ?
Pah.

Any game which doesn't specify a tiebreaker is good in my book, I happen to like games occasionally ending in ties, and it makes more sense to me than to award the win on an arbitrary basis.

For example, Princes of Florence, wherein the breaker is the most money left at the end of the game. The problem with this being that if two players are tied at the end of that game, the player with the most money left is the one who made the mistake during the game, since it's normally useless at the end!

Of course, you can go into how they could have anticipated the tie, and blah, blah, blah...this is all horribly off topic anyway.

I like ties though, I wish there were more games that just let them stand.

Re:Tiebreaker ?
CortexBomb (#54307),

I have no problem with ties either! I just wonder why a tie-breaking rule doesn't exist in a game where the final scores are so close together...

... and still no word from ProLudo...

Re:Tiebreaker ?
Official answer from Richard Breese:

"In the Pro-Ludo version it is a tie. In the R&D version it is the number of cubes."
