Hey guys,

Has anyone played the via email (with VASSAL)? Does it work via Pbem? Are there any pitfalls?

Thanks,
Jason

I have no experience with Vassal. But plenty of people play via email using cyberbord in conjunction with ACTS. Information on ACTS can be found here:

http://acts.warhorsesim.com/index.asp

Each player maintains their own cyberboard file, and ACTS handles the cards. You can go to the ACTS site and look ant games in progress. I usually do this with a new game to get a feel for opening strategies.

If you'd like to try SS using ACTS & Cyberboard, drop me a geek mail.

I've played my one and only session of SS via PBEM/ACTS/VASSAL, and had a blast. Maybe we'll have to give it a try after our HIS endeavor.

Anybody up for a game of Shifting Sands? ACTS for card management, no exchange of Cyberboard files (unless necessary to fix mistakes ), I can manage one or two card plays per evening (CET).
