With 2 players this afternoon, Martin brought the Mongolia expansion from Lajos. This expansion can be find on the BGG Age of Steam files. Design of the map is very good and the simple rules seemed to fit well on this map after first reading of the rules. As is all of the 2 players expansion we play we used the turn order rule from John Bohrer's Austria map.

On turn 1 Pierre choose the first build action to begin the game around the Ulan Bataar region where there was a nice possibility to make loops in this region. Martin builded his first rail from Beijing. On the next turn Martin urbanize in the eastern region to isolate it from Pierre and he then took first build to complete his control of this region. Pierre was able to make delivery of 5 income on turn 3, thanks to the nice loop in the Ulan Baatar/Bulgan/Suukhbaatar. Pierre took the important first build action on turn 4 to take the last available exits from Ulan Baatar and deny Martin having 2 exits from this important city. Then Pierre and Martin networks began to be profitable. The next battles were in the western region. Pierre urbanize some cities and Martin took some first builds to be able to connect the important new cities. Pierre had to give income almost every turn to make nice deliveries but it was finally a good move since he won the game.

We really this 2 players map with his nice design and simple rules. The only downside of the map is the powerful Ulan Baatar region with the 2 towns near this city. When we play this map again we'll remove the town of Bulgan or Suukhbaatar, We think that the game will be more balanced. Good work Lajos.

Final scoring:
Pierre: 111
Martin: 102
