As much as I hate you during the year. Of course I was rooting for you in the BCS Championship game.

I'm not sure what makes people think that any Big 11 school playing a soft schedule all year could compete with a battle tested SEC School.

...and too bad this isn't like that video arcade "Cyber Ball" GAME, where the LOSERS are then "auto-eradicated" as I'd much rather be seeing THAT!

Folks from Big Ten country don't use their apostrophes so liberally.

Congratulations to LSU, they played a fine game.

I don't care one way or the other. All I care about is that the game itself sucked. The best part (in my humble estimation) was the field goal competition at half-time.

I think we know where the BGG Admins' allegiances lie, intentionally avoiding a purple-yellow combination for the 07-08 Supporter badges. What other reason could there be?

p.s. I hate yellow.

And a somewhat newer one about da Nile.

The Big Ten holds a 9-8 advantage over the last 17 bowl games played between the conferences. Overall (all time including regular season), SEC holds a .582 record against the Big Ten.

That was the only blemish on the SEC bowl tally this year (besides the genius matchup of an unranked SEC team against the team that was SIXTH IN THE NATION).

I still can't believe Florida let that one get away from them. Then again, during the regular season I *hate* Florida, so...

But when bowl time comes, it's us versus them, and SEC made a pretty fine showing this year.

In this case. The apostrophe represents missing letters. Not possession. Most people don't harp on grammar unless they can't find anything else to make a valid point on.

I think that they somewhat more than "let that one get away from them". Michigan had FOUR TURNOVERS, two of them on the goal line. That was a complete drubbing. Michigan imposed its will on both sides of the ball--just look at the 3rd down conversion stats for both teams (10 for 15 versus 2 for 11).

It should also be noted that Ever since the BCS was created and the bowl system we have in existence is here. The matchups are a bit odd.

The SECs third best team usually plays the Big 10s #2 team.

And the SECs 4th or 5th best team usually plays the Big 10s #3 team.

They do that to make the matchups fair.

Perhaps. But Michigan came in there with something to play for and a nice send-off for their head honcho, while Florida was coasting on Heisman fumes. I mean, congrats to Michigan for a game well-played, but Florida should have beaten them.

Again, I hate Florida, just as a disclaimer.

Either way, it was a hell of an entertaining game.

Do you seriously think that? Mightn't it have to do with historical scheduling of teams from the respective conferences in specific bowls?

That we can agree on. One of the better bowl games played this season.

Arkansas was #25, and they did beat LSU who just won the National Championship. Not that they played like it.

Oops, I didn't realize Arkansas had slipped into the ratings.

Yes, LSU would very much like to have had that game with Arkansas to do again. SEC teams just play each other tough, every year. There are no gimmes.

If only the Big Ten was as competitive...*sigh*

Can we please banish Ohio State to the Rose Bowl for a couple of years now?

Final AP poll:

1. LSU (60) 12-2 1,620
2. Georgia (3) 11-2 1,515
3. USC (1) 11-2 1,500
4. Missouri 12-2 1,347
5. Ohio State 11-2 1,346
6. West Virginia 11-2 1,342
7. Kansas (1) 12-1 1,303
8. Oklahoma 11-3 1,139
9. Virginia Tech 11-3 1,096
10. Texas 10-3 962
10. Boston College 11-3 962
12. Tennessee 10-4 904
13. Florida 9-4 685
14. Brigham Young 11-2 654
15. Auburn 9-4 648
16. Arizona State 10-3 587
17. Cincinnati 10-3 566
18. Michigan 9-4 508
19. Hawaii 12-1 460
20. Illinois 9-4 443
21. Clemson 9-4 353
22. Texas Tech 9-4 308
23. Oregon 9-4 253
24. Wisconsin 9-4 202
25. Oregon State 9-4 110

4, 5, and 6 were incredibly close. I wouldn't mind seeing Ohio State fall to 7 or 8, but other than that pretty good.
