Has anybody heard anything from these guys in awhile? A buddy of mine says he read on Consimworld that they were going out of business, but I haven't been able to find that anywhere. I tried calling them, but haven't gotten an answer.

I hope this isn't true, as I really like the stuff these guys are doing.

Cheers,
Bart

Re: Worthington Games
I'd be curious for a link to the post that your friend read. I know due to the holidays and the arrival and shipping of Prussia's Defiant Stand they've been busy, but I haven't seen any posts about them going under in their primary folder or the several game folders I sometimes check out.

I would imagine they're busy getting Freebooters ready to go too.

Re: Worthington Games
Checking Consimworld I can't find any mention of then ceasing business so I suspect your friend is mistaken. I myself am becoming more and more impressed with Worthington Games. Their Victoria Cross is an excellent block game and I'm looking forward to several of their upcoming titles.

Re: Worthington Games, out of business?
I have not found it either. When I asked him, he said he may have read it somewhere else. I suspect someone may be spreading rumors (which may make me an accesory )

In any case he first told me this about a week ago, and I called Worthington a couple times since then before I posted here. I agree that Worthington has been impressive. They have been steadily increasing the quality of their products and although I have yet to play it, I've read a lot of good things about Prussia's Defiant Stand

Here's to hoping all is well with WG and we hear from them soon. If anyone does hear from these guys, please post here, and let us know.

Cheers,
Bart

Re: Worthington Games, out of business?
OK,

So the same day I posted this thread, asking about them.

Matt from WG posted this.

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/274345

Freebooters is going to be a Pirate themed game of swordfights in the style of "Cowboys-The Way of the Gun" Sounds pretty nifty.

This is good news, since it means that Worthington is not out of business...just out of touch

Cheers,
Bart

Wow. We are working on a ton of games right now. I'm behind on blogging, posting, and email but things are going splendidly.

Game publishing just doesn't move fast enough for the internet age it seems.

Maybe this is the moment to change the title into "WG, alive and kicking!"

I just received a copy of Prussia's Defiant Stand and I am incredibly impressed with its components. Beautiful hard mounted board, great box (not the sleave over a white box of the past), full color glossy rules, very nice cards, and great wooden blocks.

The rules look like a cross between a simple CDG and a Columbia game like Hammer.

This game looks very promising! Congrats and nice work Worthington!

Thanks! Glad you like it. We switched to that component style for Cowboys and plan to do all of our titles in that style.

Tim,

The game is currently being developed. We hope to have an idea about where it is sometime after Prezcon.
