....that a lot of people seem to use to store their game components in. There's some kind of specific brand that people seem to use a lot, but I can't remember it.

Plano boxes is probably what you are thinking of.

Though I'd suggest just going to Target and getting what they have there. Usually a lot cheaper and works just as well.

I have lots of different sorts, and I wouldn't pay near full price for the Plano ones. If you can get them cheap, they are nice though.

I have never found Plano boxes at Target. I usually find them at Wal-Mart, Meijer, and the major sporting goods stores like Dick's and Cabella's. I know at Meijer, they carry Plano boxes in the fishing section and also the hardware section.

You can also order directly from the company. Boxes are a lot cheaper direct though shipping costs usually wipe out any savings. A good option if you are looking for specific types and can't find them locally.

I would assume they would be in the fishing or sporting goods section of any store.

I think the brand you're looking for is Parker Brothers. I frequently find their "Risk" line of clear plastic boxes inside of games at the local thrift store. The boxes are great for storing game pieces, but I still can't for the life of me figure out what the plastic caltrops that they come with are used for.

Actually you will find a lot (sometimes even better) in the hardware section of the store also, usually around the tool boxes.

Rapala is another brand of tackle boxes, very similiar to the Plano ones. You can compare both brands at Wal-Mart, Lowe's or a variety of other retailers.

I find them in the tools section - about 4 different sizes usually. The crafts section also has organizer boxes, but they are much lower quality.

I don't know about that model specific, but they are called counter trays. They can be found at stores selling wargames.

ArtBin containers are pretty handy too. I use these more than any other.

You can find them at JoAnn Fabrics and art supply stores.

A found a pair of Plano containers at Wal-Mart. Both of them have the removable tabs so that you can adjust the size of the storage compartments

Re: What Is The Name Of The Clear Plastic Storage Containers
At times Target has these colored ones that are almost identical to the plano boxes, a bit between two of the sizes (which works out well for fitting into game boxes). Usually in tinted colors, clear blue, clear pink etc. I've found them in various parts of the store. Sorry if I made it sound like they carry the Plano brand boxes, but what they do carry is a lot cheaper (cost like $1-$2 each) and not much worse.

Good thread. Can never have enough shelves, plastic totes, and Plano boxes for storing all your gaming goodness.
