There is probably a link somewhere on BGG, but I was wondering if anyone has suggestions / links to storage solutions for games.

Specifically things I am looking for :

felt bags of all sizes
-bigger bags for tile drawing games like Carcassonne
-small bags for secret victory point games like Incan Gold

little plastic boxes
the use for these should be a bit more obvious. Figures and bits and stuff for all sorts of games, from Starcraft to Ticket to Ride.

So far I haven't found a good place for felt bags. I couldn't even figure out where to get them for the longest time, until I figured out that game stores sell small dice bags. Unfortunately all the stores in the area charge $2 each, which really adds up when you consider games like Incan Gold go up to 8 people.

I've found Fred Meyer / Target are OK for little plastic boxes, but usually don't have enough in stock for a single game, and I end up going to multiple stores.

I know this is something any board gamer deals with, so anyone know of any good online shops? I'm browsing through Target.com right now and am having the hardest time finding what I've found in-store there.

there are some specialty dice stores out there on the intra-webs that usually sell felt bags.

As for plastic storage check out Plano: http://tinyurl.com/2kv5mr

I don't know about the bags, but as for the plastic boxes I usually go to a local outdoor sports warehouse and get multi-compartment Plano boxes. They come in literally dozens of different sizes, and the compartments are usually adjustable. I can almost always find one that fits perfectly inside a given game box.

I sew my own bags of cotton-fabric when there is a need of it. Not difficult at all and you can choose the pattern of the fabric so it will theme with the game.

In a similar concept as the Plano tackle boxes, Stanley makes some really great storage boxes - you can pick them up at Home Depot

Here's a peak at what I mean:

I just want to mention that in addition to Plano tackle boxes, most craft stores, ie Hobby Lobby, sell standard bead boxes for $2. Off the top of my head, I'd say I probably have about 12 of these for organizing my various games, they work great and have 17 compartments.

This thread will not be complete until ColtsFan drops in with his Plano fan microbadge. He's the one that got me on the right track.

I find that some Dollar Stores have gift bags that might be suitable for gaming purposes.

I picked up a few of these

when they were on sale once, but they are a bit more now. They are very sturdy and lush; I will give them that.

Check out the small and large bits bags at twilight games. I recently bought some for general purpose drawing of tiles, blocks, and meeples.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned small plastic resealable bags; not for secret draw bags, but for storing bits. They are inexpensive and fit into just about any space (unlike boxes). You can find them in many sizes in most grocery stores, and there are even smaller ones available (try online or in hobby shops or electronics shops - the ones that sell parts).

Crown Royal makes nice bags:

https://www.crownroyallabels.com/basket/landing.jsp?LDA=LDA

If the link doesn't work its;

www.crownroyal.com
{go through age check}
Click 'store' on the top bar
Find the 'customized Crown Royal Bags' link

It comes in two sizes, depending on what size, ahem, the product is.

Awesome, this is all very useful. Is this information located on a page somewhere?

Is there some sort of wiki page of general board gaming information that wouldn't fit well on an individual game's page?

If no one's compiled this information in one spot, and there's somewhere I can put it, I wouldn't mind organizing it and uploading it somewhere.
