Just for fun, I thought I'd actually calculate the distances between cities.

TO
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
+-----------------+
1|4 5 3 4 1 2 4 2 3|oo
2|1 3 1 2 2 3 2 3 4|oo
F 3|1 2 3 1 2 2 1 2 3|o
R 4|2 1 2 3 3 4 3 4 5|o
O 5|3 4 2 3 4 1 3 1 2|o
M 6|2 3 1 2 3 3 2 3 4|oo
7|3 4 2 3 4 1 3 1 2|oo
8|5 6 4 5 6 3 2 3 1|oo
9|4 5 3 4 5 2 1 2 3|o

This tells us what we probably already knew:
-You can get from Copenhagen to anywhere in three, and usually less. It's also easy to get to.
-Kalmar, Danzig, and Reval are likewise easy to get to, and have two warehouse spaces each.
-You can get from anywhere to anywhere in six.
-You can usually return to your starting place in three.
-Overall, it is easier to move east than west.
-Reval is a great place to strand people who don't have a good presence on the eastern side.

And in case people are curious, here's the chart for the "Changing Winds" version.

TO
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
+-----------------+
1|3 1 2 3 1 2 3 3 4|o
2|2 3 1 2 3 3 2 4 3|oo
F 3|1 2 3 1 2 2 1 3 2|o
R 4|3 1 2 3 4 2 1 3 2|oo
O 5|2 3 2 3 3 1 3 2 3|o
M 6|2 3 1 2 2 3 2 1 2|o
7|3 3 2 2 3 1 3 2 1|ooo
8|3 4 3 4 1 2 3 3 1|oo
9|3 4 2 3 3 1 2 2 3|oo

Here, no trip requires more than four talers.

If anyone has found a way to get text displayed in a monospaced font, and without spaces being removed, let me know. "Code" doesn't do it, obviously.

One question. Why aren't the distances between the same cities zero (0)? Instead, do you have the shortest distance to get back to the same place?

Hmm. Maybe it's browser-specific. It doesn't seem to work on Firefox 2.0.0.11 for Linux.

Exactly. I thought that'd be more useful.

Since you can't do two actions in the same city without looping, it is most certainly useful how you have done it. I've built markets in the start city, traveled to other cities to buy goods, and then returned to the original city to sell the goods.
