It is still going on.

You can follow the progress at the WarGameRoom.

By my count it is USA 11 - USSR 19, not looking good for the capitalist.
63% of wins for Russia which is what most of the other post on the size of the bias have listed.

At a glance it still looks like the USSR is a strong favorite. What I'm not seeing is how much handicap is being given in games. Anyone know? Is the USSR giving handicap and still winning that many?

Will the next release make any attempt at altering the balance?

Just curious since I have this on my future purchases list.

No handicap in the wargameroom.

Playoffs are best of three with Random for the first game, switch for the second, random for the third.

The moderator of the league raised adding some sort of balance for this years league but I don't think it was ever finalized.

Some of the Russian wins are due to the time factor in Wargameroom- the games there are timed I think with players losing if they exceed a certain time. Whether this particuarly hinders USA players is open to question.

I don't think there will be any balance changes in the next edition. I doubt there will be any significant changes at all after the final tweaks for 2nd edition.
