Lurker Aspect Tech
Cost: 1 mineral, 1 gas
After purchasing, place in your play area. You may now build Lurker units by paying 1 mineral and 1 gas and destroying one friendly Hydralisk on the active planet.

Lurkers
Ground attack, +1 support
Combat cards: Basic Ultralisk and Guardian cards also work for Lurkers. Append to them this text: If your front line unit is a Lurker, gain cloaking, and ground splash damage, then if the enemy has detector, they the enemy gains +1 attack and +1 health.

___________________________________________

Each Zerg player gets three Lurker minis, perhaps borrowed Rock Spiders from Nexus Ops?

The lurker is powerful, but it is easy to exhaust all its combat cards, and it is weak in support. This simulates its general video-game fiddlyness. With no detector, though: look out!

Hmm, looks interesting.

One question about the combat card, though, as the last part is unclear.

"then if the enemy has detector, they gain +1 attack and +1 health."

is the "they" in the last part the Lurker, or the enemy?

If the former, maybe it should say "the Lurker gains...".

If the latter, maybe it should say "the enemy front line unit gains...".

I may have to try this idea.

Thanks. It's the enemy that gets the boost. The reasoning was this:

When you have a (say) Dark Templar, and it's cloak is detected, you have basically a zealot-like ground unit that still fights pretty well.

When you have a lurker that gets detected, you have essentially a sort of unwieldy siege tank that has to run right up to its enemy, taking fire on the way in, just to burrow and get shot at some more. The enemy will tend to preferentially target the lurkers and kill them before they accomplish any splash damage. Good players will outmanuver the detection, but it takes a lot of work.

Like your Devours, I miss these in my game.

Once more, thumbs up on the well-worked lurker.

Can't wait to try this!
