You could probably do a lot of nifty things with the US-Canada border. Have you seen the Germany map for Age of Steam?

I'm just imagining a long, thin map (like Italy), where there are a limited number of available connections along the Canadian side, with some viable routes available across the border. In Germany, you can only deliver FROM the out-of-country links, and I can imagine something similar for a Rails of Canada expansion.

Hm. Now I have some ideas for an Age of Steam: Canada expansion map....

I want Rails of Siberia, where you have the option to build your rails over lakes that are frozen only during the winter. Every summer the tracks fall into the melted lake, and every winter you pay to rebuild them.

Say what you will, those Tsars knew how to provide job security to their railroad workers!

This surge of new expansions for a more or less out of print game is interesting to me. Are there enough copies of the base game out there to support all these expansions?

Probably not. However, the rumor is that Railroad Tycoon may be republished as 'Rails of America' or USA or something like that. This is more-or-less to get around the licensed property item with Sid Meier's game. If that happens, then there should be an ample supply.

That said, there are plenty of RRT owners now that are loving the fact that expansions are coming out.
