Could this game be expanded to more players by adding a few extra guns (including matching character cards and bullets) Would the game need more money? Could this actually effect game play? I know there is the upcoming yakuza rules to add more players but for a first game with more than 6 it seems to me that simpler is better. I don't think the game dynamics would suffer from a few more players but I was curious if anyone had already tried it.

we've put 2 sets together for a couple of games to get to 9 players, adding half the money from a second set. We didn't use the undercover cop like we always to because it would have been too chaotic. it was okay, but not as tight as 6 players.

Did you pull more than 6 money markers a round or did you make the game longer?

I have the homemade version (cap guns & playing cards) and it works fine up to 8.

They do have a set of "official" rules up for combining two sets of the game to play with 9 to 12 people...

Three more players and team play rules; tantos, shurikens, & shotgun.

In Les Yakuzas, you put out 8 bills a round instead of 5, for 9 people instead of 6. I think it would work fine to play with up to 9 this way, you would only need, for each additional player:

-a toy gun
-8 cards (playing cards: ace=Bang! x3, face card=bang!, number=clic; or print out scanned CnG cards)
-8 bills (monopoly money or scanned CnG bills); add an additional bill to the loot every round.
-A character card/stand (if you want)

If you have the shotgun or uzi, you don't even need another gun.

This variant is just awesome. It was included as an official variant in my rules, while in the rules of a friend's set it was not included. Strange.

We did not try Les Yakuza yet, since we always played this variant when we had enough players... .
