With my winter hibernation at an end, I'm headed down out of the snowy mountains to Sacramento for Conquest 2008 (March 28-30). I'm hoping to try out Pillars of the Earth and Zooloretto on Saturday, and I might dabble in some Napoleonic miniatures as well.

However, I'm very interested in playing some other games. I'll be bringing Conquest of the Pacific, The Price of Freedom, and Here I Stand (and perhaps others) in the hopes of arranging some pick up games. I'd also be interested in an epic C&C: Ancients, if available.

Anyone else going? Anyone want to get together for some non-scheduled games?

6 minutes after you posted this I posted in the convention forum about this convention- http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/298413

I'll be there all day Saturday for sure. I fly home on Sunday. This will be my first game con so I'm not really sure what to expect. I'm also a relatively new gamer so most anything I get to play will be new to me. I'm really excited about this and looking forward to it.

I'll be up there late Friday night, running a WW2 miniatures game Saturday and Sunday morning but hoping to get in some other pick up games in my off hours. Pillars sounds fun, as does "Here I Stand" I'll be bringing FAB: The Bulgeand maybe Combat Commander: Europeand Commands & Colors: Ancients pm me and we'll trade phone numbers if you want.

I'll definitely be there as I am the Program Manager for the show. I'll be the guy with a pony tail in a blue vest. I'll probably be running several of the scheduled games that are being run by convention staff.

I got my hotel room, 2 nights in the convention hotel and I got a free convention pass. Its a pretty sweet deal, plus the convenience of being there.

I am going to try and make it there at least one day.

My weekends are a bit busy lately. Build half of fence that blew down in big wind storm. Then...go to Blue Angels. Then build other half of fence and watch March Madness. Next week go to gaming convention? Oh and don't forget liitle league on Saturdays.... But I want to see what a Gaming convention is all about. Anything for my eight year old son to do (games?)?

I think it'd be fun for the tyke too, loads of miniature games to look at and 8 is just the right age to start out. I think he'll love it and come home starry eyed.

I'm planning on dropping off my boys at Grandma's farm before hitting the con. My oldest is 8 and he plays some serious games, but I can't see him playing Memoir '44 for 12 hours straight. Of course, I'm coming from out of town and staying at the hotel; if I lived in Sac, I'd take him for a day and have a lot of fun!
