I'm not sure if anyone else has a copy the same as mine, but my 'Yellow' tiles are in fact lime green. The colour actually bears no simularity to yellows in other 18xx games.

Indeed, I would call them lime rather than yellow. Not that I mind. Besides, lime is a very trendy colour =)

I also believe this has been a conscious design decision to make the game look more green and the tiles are only called yellow for historical reasons.

The lime-coloured "yellow" tiles are not a design decision but an production error.
During the last formatting of the tiles I apperantly picked the wrong colour, it looked yellow on the screen, but in print it came out lime-green.

We spotted the mistake to late to do anything about it before the release at the Essen gamefair, the games arrived the night before the start!

The production was a bit rushed at the end. One of the colours of the wooden houses is wrong, pink should be purple. There are two more printing mistakes, but nothing important.

Error or not, I think they look nice and actually prefer the greener look.

But I think this is a common error, particularly prone to happen when there's not enough time to check how the colours on screen appear in print.
