We (finally) have all of our content from GAMA 2008 up. For those of you that haven't seen any of it, we took our camera down to GAMA 2008 in Las Vegas. We interviewed game designers and people in the game industry about what's going on with their games and product lines. We put all that footage together into 10 separate episodes and the video is now up for all to download and enjoy.

I'll put all the episodes download information here. But, there is a fair amount of content. The easiest way to get it is through RSS here:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/obsessedgamingadventures.com
or through the iTunes store.

Here is a list of the episodes.

Episode 1: Collateral Damage and Bankruptcy

On the first night, we taped game overviews of the Anime themed Collateral Damage, as well as the light card game Bankruptcy.

Episode 10: Bonus Interview with Dead Gentlemen Productions

But wait, we have one more special thing for you. This is a bonus episode that we filmed that fits a slightly different theme. We sat down for an interview with Dead Gentlemen Productions, makers of Demon Hunters, Demon Hunters 2, Gamers, and Gamers 2: Dorkness Rising. Their movies are hilarious and of course are aimed directly at the sort of nerd culture that I am proud to be part of. Don Early and Matt Vancil each played key roles in those movies being created and were willing to share some interesting information mixed into some hilarious stories. They also were excited to talk to us about the new Demon Hunters Roleplaying game created in partnership with Margaret Weis Productions.

Hmm,

Originally I posted the episodes one by one as they came out and they got a lot more attention than this post is. Did I post too much content all at once?

Perhaps,

All good stuff!

Regarding the D&D 4th edition discussion: That guy was a terrible salesman for the product. He seemed to not know what he was talking about, and had a hard time describing why anyone should upgrade. Characters can stand in certain places to best use their abilities?? 5 equal monsters attacking a party instead of one big monster?? These are things that I want the party and DM to decide, respectively, not the rules. Regardless of the reality, he just made 4th edition seem like a gimmick to sell new books to everyone.

Contrast that to 3.x. It was a no-brainer. Anyone who had played it could have described how it was better in so many ways in a few minutes. It was just obvious. With 4.0 I haven't seen any system changes that make me want to switch.

Jim,

For me, I was most excited about them adding special abilities to each character class. I tend to prefer to play melee characters and in D&D 3.5 (just like 3, 2, and 1) as the game progresses the magic user power curve leaves melee characters behind and there level ups become amazing and my character would become stale and boring. But maybe that's just my experience.

I'm in a fairly new campaign with 6 characters of 8th to 9th level: Fighter, Fighter/Cleric, Cleric, Ranger, Thief, Sorcerer (me). I love the Sorcerer class. It fits my play style much better than other Magic User. But I still feel out of my league during combat. Even a few orcs would be a challenge. Our Fighters use multiple weapons and/or get mutiple attacks, not to mention Cleave and Weapon Focus.

It might also depend on the DM. Magic items in our campaign are very rare. My AC is 14 (+2 dex, leather armor, 10% spell failure), and I have no magic weapons. Intelligent opponents target me once they see me cast a spell, and I take a beating.
