I tried two player Brass recently and it was really impressive. All we did was play as four players with normal rules, only whoever went first on the first turn in the canal phase also went fourth, and after then we followed normal turn order rules. That was the only rule we adjusted. Whichever team scores the most VPs wins.

The strategy is brilliant. It is now just as good to use your team mate's coal or iron as yours, likewise shipping cotton through a team mate's port is good. If anything this adds to the strategy as you may want to specialise one player in ports and the other in cotton, for example.

Brass continues to impress me. I really, really like this game.

Bring on Tinner's Trail!

I wondered about playing two player by playing 4 player game of Brass with two colours per person. At the end you score your lower score only. I think you would get more use of opposition industries this way.
