I couldn't find anywhere in the rules where it covers this, but if you run out of units of a type (this has happened to me twice so far in this game alone), can you substitute other markers for the ones you need, such as the clearly not-yet-discovered artillery for Men at Arms?

Or, hell, any marker for the unit. Are the units exhaustable, giving people who build first the advantage over those who build last, or not, trusting that the limited number of units is a consequence of production concerns, and not game balance?

You can make your own units/counters to support more units built. Units are not exhaustible.

Lots of the game components are still available from Eagel Games as well, so you could just order more if you wish.
